Hats off and big congratulations to graphic designer and illustrator Jeff Sylvester, Pilot Design, for his Western Canadian Music Award Nomination for the graphic design for both Ann’s latest disk, “When We Were Spies” AND that of Corb Lund (for “Horse Soldier! Horse Soldier!”). The award winner will be announced in Edmonton in mid-October, so keep your fingers crossed for Jeff!
To those of you who attended the International Leonard Cohen Festival in Edmonton last weekend we’re sure you’ll agree the festival was a riveting and top notch experience — at least we thought so! We are pleased to announce Miss AV sold a record amount of CDs at the festival, and was extremely well received at both the gala and her own show. We heartily encourage all of you to attend the next international festival in 2010, hosted in Krakow, Poland! More festival photos can be viewed at the link below. Photos by Kim Solez.
We keep forgetting to tell you Ann’s CBC interview pitching her single “St. Paul” is up on the CBC website for your listening pleasure. You can listen to it by following the link below, and then clicking on “Epod”.
In keeping with Jeff Sylvester’s WCMA nomination we thought we’d invent an album cover related (and, of course, Top Secret) contest:
If you can identify how many suitcases appear on the album artwork of all 4 of Ann’s albums, combined — including the inside pages — you can win an AV tote bag, in your choice of either fire engine red or deep blue. The first 3 people to send in the correct number will get a tote bag. So don’t hesitate — now is your chance; start counting suitcases!
As soon as you have your grand total tally email it to Patrick at email@example.com, complete with your mailing address. Who knew the August long weekend could be so fun!?
Or if you’re very lazy and/or have a phobia of counting suitcases, you can simply ORDER an AV tote bag by following the link below:
Still haven’t watched the (VERY romantic) AV video??
Then you are crazy!!!
Click on the link below to lower your craziness level by at least 89.64% (or so).
If you don’t own all the AV albums and are very curious as to how many suitcases there actually are, you can of course make sure your catalogue of AV albums is complete, by purchasing the titles you don’t yet have — either by ordering online, or going to one of the many retail outlets where Ann’s CDs are sold. Follow the link below to find a store — online or “for real” — where Ann’s disks can be found.
Thanks for your time and support!
