For those of you who stop by this blog and think I’m just a blogger and book reviewer, you haven’t clicked on the tabs labeled About, Services, or Clients on my site. I realize that this website looks like a blog so I’m in the process of having a very talented website designer & developer create a fancy, new professional website for Scully Love Promo and I will be using my dot com URL when the website launches, which will hopefully be in August.
I have also created a Facebook page for Scully Love Promo and it has special content on it that you won’t find here or anywhere else. I am sharing great social media tips, links to the pages and websites of some talented, creative artists, as well as some local businesses who I have been assisting with their foray into social media marketing, as well as inviting authors and musicians to post information about their pages on our wall. I look forward to your questions, comments and our conversation there!
Scully Love Promo is very pleased to announce that author Cheryl Hiebert, who is writing a book called Losing Willow: Grieving The Loss Of An Animal Companion has just advanced to Round 3 of The Next Top Spiritual Author Contest! Round 3 includes only 25 authors who will now have to submit another couple of chapters of their books to the panel of judges who will judge them further in this competition. I wish Cheryl all the luck in the world and I know that her book is going to be a big success because it will touch so many people who will benefit from its creation.
I am also happy and proud to welcome Irish alternative folk/rock singer-songwriter Mark Dignam to my client roster. Mark has just finished a successful tour as the opening act for The Swell Season; he is a long-time member of Fairplay Collective with fellow band mates Jenna Nicholls, Michael Brunnock and Brendan O’Shea; and he will be playing at the Rockwood Music Hall in New York City on July 22nd as well as some shows in the Pittsburgh, PA area this August. From Mark’s MySpace profile:
“Mark Dignam is an Irish born, US based songwriter who began as a busker on the streets of Dublin. Dignam’s songs are always intelligent and insightful, balanced with an infectious sing-along quality and that irresistible Irish wit… His sound draws comparisons to Van Morrison, Dylan, and Tim Buckley as well as the more contemporary songwriters of today like Elvis Costello, Billy Bragg, and Sun Volt.
Live, Dignam delivers powerful, three-dimensional performances, a songwriter’s songwriter, and yet an accessible gem. He engages audiences with warm melody, lyricism, strong personality and has been invited to open for or tour with Billy Bragg, David Gray, Richard Thompson, Joan Armatrading, Vic Chestnut, The Frames, Paddy Casey and a host of others…”
A new Facebook page has been created for Bottle Tree Productions, which is the Kingston, ON based theatre company who currently occupy The Wellington Street Theatre. Sleeping Beauty started yesterday at 3
pm and shows run Tuesday through to Saturday afternoons at 3 pm for two weeks with two weeks of evening shows from Thursdays to Saturdays at 7:30 pm. See how a royal messenger named Jack almost brings down the whole kingdom, getting it shut down for a hundred years. Comedy romance and music! Fun for the whole family!
I am very proud of my mother, Marilyn Bode, for accepting the position of Director of Field Ministries in Canada for CONCERN International so that she can raise money and awareness for an orphanage in Aqua Prieta, Mexico called Brazos de Amor (Arms of Love), that is very close to her heart. She and my father volunteered there in the winters of 2008 and 2009 when they resided in Green Valley, Arizona for the months of February and March, as they do every year now. We have created a Facebook page for Brazos de Amor and invite you to stop by and learn more.
Scully Love Promo is also excited about beginning work with Kingston, ON musician Glenna Green and Savannah, GA musician Philip Palmer and his band, Port City Music. I’ll tell you more about them soon!
I hope you all have a very joy-filled summer and want to thank everyone who has subscribed to my blog, both through this site and through Networked Blogs on Facebook. I’m delighted to know that you’re interested!
